Winged Disapointment April 17, 2006
Posted by blogger in : Chicken, Ranting , add a commentWe had gone out tonight to Buffallo Wild Wings (BWW) for dinner with some friends, for my birthday actually. So, tonight seems the apropos time to write this up, now that I have had the time to stew and mull situation over. About a month and a half ago BWW decided to drop there Smokey South Western sauce. Just to give you a little history, Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) formally known as BW3s (Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck) was started back in 1981, by two guys in Kent, OH formally of Buffalo, NY who could not find an authentic Buffalo Wing place.
…And now, for the rest of the rant. BWW have dropped the Smokey Southwestern and Thia sauces from the lineup. They said it was due to lagging sales. Now everyone I have eaten wings with from Buffalo Wild Wings has enjoyed the Smokey Southwestern sauce and ordered it more often than not. Now, even though it is not a very scientific poll or "diverse" enough spread of people polled it just seems quite odd to me.
Now they have not decreased the number of choices you have for sauces, in fact they have increased them. They have gone from 12 sauces to 14 sauces. The new sauces they have added are Asian Zing, Garlic Parmesan, Honey BBQ and Mango Habanero. The Honey BBQ you might recognize as they have had it a couple of times for limited time offers, and as I understand it done quite well. I must say that the Asian Zing, Honey BBQ and Mango Habanero are not very much to my liking, but that has more to do with my personal dislike for most things sweet. As for the Garlic Parmesan I have tried it once, but found the texture to be a bit odd, but I'll probably give them another try again here some time in the near future, as they might grow to like them.
All in all I'm just really disappointed that they have dropped the Smokey Southwestern sausce from the chiocies of available sauces, and would encourage them to at least brin it back every once in a while as a Litmited time offer.
McWrong Again!!! April 13, 2006
Posted by blogger in : Food, Ranting , add a commentThe last I checked it didn’t take a brain surgeon to work at McDonald’s. I should know, I worked in fast food during high school. Just so you have a little background information, I have eaten at many many McDonald’s all over the country and a couple outside the country. Yet it happens time again and time again. I’m sure you’re sitting on the edge of your seat wondering exactly what it is I’m going to say.
Yes, you guessed it, my order was not correct. Now you be asking yourself, and then again maybe not, how is it did they bumble breakfast order? That I, too, would like to know. Let’s start off with my daughters order, she got a number 12, pancakes, with a side of sausage. Now the “main courser”, if you want to call it that, was actually correct, three pancakes and a sausage patty. But, they forgot the silverware, no butter, no syrup; how on earth do you eat pancakes without any of those? Yes, I did look around to make sure that they were not out. As for my part of the meal, I ordered a number three, a sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin with hash brown. I also had it topped off with extra cheese and sausage. So after having looked for and getting the silverware, I go to eat my McMuffin sandwich. Yup, you got it, it was wrong! I was missing the “xtra” sausage, so I looked at the receipt, just to make sure it was not rung -up wrong. So, I went back up to the counter, and had got it fixed, they made me a whole new sandwich. So I go back t my seat, went to take a bite, and there it was two sausage patties and one slice of cheese, ONLY. So once again I take the sandwich backup front and they get it fixed. While this was going on a manager offered me several items for free that were sweet, which I refused. But, the reason I turned them down is a story for a different time.
So, that was my morning incident, and will probebly have many more.

Ever had one of those days where everything is just falling down around you? Well that was my day yesterday, April 9th, I must say, a …Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
All I have to say is…
“I HATE BACKUPS!!!”
There now I feel much better. OK, OK, maybe it’s just the tape drives or robots when they are not working, but I can truly say after yesterday I hate it when that happens. Ended up working 14hrs, ouch, yuk. Then to top it all off it was my birthday. So, there we have it folks that was my birthday. [My] …Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Backups are a good thing don’t get me wrong, in fact as an IT Professional it is my duty to make sure you know that.
But when dealing with enterprise backups and compliancy it makes for some very hectic times.
There now I feel very better, thank you for your time.
